When an extraction makes sense
Dr. McCartney recommends an extraction when a tooth is too damaged by decay or fracture to restore, or when a tooth is contributing to crowding or bite problems. It's a last resort after other options have been ruled out, not a default.
The Visit
What happens at the appointment
The area is numbed before anything begins. Once the tooth is out, you'll leave with clear aftercare instructions covering what to eat, how to care for the site, and what's normal to feel over the next few days.
Replacing a missing tooth
If a tooth needs to come out, we'll talk through what comes next, whether that's a bridge, a denture, or a referral for an implant, so the gap doesn't turn into a bigger problem down the road.
I was looking for an independent dentist after visiting other businesses that are part of a large chain. I was impressed with the courtesy and great treatment provided on my initial visit to McCartney Dental. From front desk to Mr McCartney it was very pleasant. I would recommend this office if you prefer a more personal experience for your dental needs. A special thanks to Tessa.
