A dental implant is a small post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. The surgical placement of that post is done by an oral surgeon or periodontist we refer you to. Once the implant has healed and integrated, McCartney Dental handles the restorative side: designing and fitting the crown that attaches to it.

What happens once the implant has healed
After your surgeon clears the implant for restoration, Dr. McCartney takes an impression or digital scan and has a custom crown made to match the surrounding teeth. Once it's back, he attaches it to the implant and checks your bite.
Working with your surgeon
We coordinate directly with the oral surgeon or periodontist handling your placement, so the timing between surgery and restoration is straightforward on your end. If you haven't seen a specialist yet, we can point you to one we trust.
